Growing up in Vietnam, she watched people try to make their way through systems that were not built for them. Immigration offices. Foreign markets. Institutions that did not know their names, and were in no hurry to learn them. She was young, but she paid attention. And she noticed something that stayed with her. The people who made it through were not always the ones with the most money or the best papers. They were the ones who had found someone they could trust.
That question never left. What do people actually need?
After coming to the United States, she worked as a nurse for years. Nursing does not begin with doing. It begins with listening. You learn to notice what a person cannot say out loud. You learn to sit with someone in a hard moment and stay, even when there is nothing left to fix. Those years shaped everything that came after, quietly, long before it was understood that way.
Eventually, that path led to founding My Viet, Inc., a company for immigration and international education. There was no real plan at the start. Only a belief. Families deserve guidance from someone who actually cares what happens to them next. Not a form. Not a transaction. A person.
The work grew slowly. So did the travel.
Factories in Asia, not to close deals, but to understand how things get made, and who makes them. Quiet rooms with government officials and university leaders. Conversations in Singapore, in the UAE, in Egypt, in Vietnam, in Texas, and in a few places not easily named. Some led somewhere. Many did not. Peace came with that, over time.
Everywhere, the same truth kept showing up. Trust travels. It does not need a shared language or a shared passport. It needs consistency. It needs patience. It needs the willingness to say the honest thing, even when the honest thing costs something.
Alongside all of it, there was time spent in orphanages in Vietnam, Bangladesh, Nepal, and Bhutan. Sitting with children and communities who had nothing to offer in return. Ten years of Vipassana meditation, not to leave the world behind, but to see it a little more clearly.
None of that was separate from the work. In many ways, it was the reason for it.
There is no hurry now. No chasing contracts, no chasing a name. What matters is building things that stay useful long after she is gone. A quieter kind of ambition, and one that fits.
The work today looks much like it always has. Bringing the right people together, at the right moment. Advising leaders who think in decades, not quarters. Walking with families through one of the biggest decisions of their lives.
And still learning. Every conversation. Every country. Every hard disagreement that somehow finds its way to honesty. All of it still teaches.
These are not things to aspire to. They are the ground this work stands on. In every conversation, every partnership, every decision entrusted to her. Not always gotten right. But always reached for.
If a deal asks for something known to be wrong, it is not a deal worth taking. A good name, once broken, does not return the way people expect. Better to walk away from an opportunity than carry a choice that cannot be faced honestly later.
Not the fastest way. The right way. Most relationships built here may not pay off for years, and that is accepted from the start. Slow is not a weakness. It is the point.
No chasing the spotlight, no performing. The value lives in the quality of the advice, and in the honesty offered when no one is watching. Not in how many people are watching. Attention is easy to get and hard to keep. Trust is the opposite.
The partnerships that matter most are the ones built, then quietly stepped away from. The goal was never to be needed forever. It was to build something strong enough to stand without help. Being needed feels good. Watching something stand on its own feels better.
The work is not measured in deals closed. It is measured in the calls still coming, ten years later, and whether what was built together is still standing. The deals fade. The people do not.
Trust is not earned once and kept forever. It is earned again, in small moments. So promises are made carefully, and kept fully. Not a policy. Simply the only way that has ever felt honest.
Nothing here is built to be remembered by. It is built to keep serving people long after she is gone. If no one remembers who started it, that usually means it was built right. That understanding took years, and is still deepening.
Comfortable words are not offered if the truth serves better. A real advisor does not simply agree. A real advisor speaks plainly, gently enough to be heard. That kind of honesty is a form of respect. It says the relationship is taken seriously enough to be straight.

Deeper relationships formed in finance and cross-border business, connecting international investors with opportunities in the United States. Government officials and university leaders became part of the circle. Always as a bridge, never only a broker.
The journey reached Switzerland, Belgium, Greece, the UAE, Saudi Arabia, and Egypt. Different systems. Different rhythms. The same human need underneath, to be seen, trusted, and treated with care.
Time given in Vietnam, Thailand, India, Bangladesh, Nepal, and Bhutan. Sitting with children in orphanages, serving communities with nothing to give back. Never a break from the real work. My Viet Magazine was founded, a publication for entrepreneurs, government leaders, and global partners. A place where leaders could think out loud, where wisdom mattered more than noise. A place for insight, not publicity.
Ten years of Vipassana meditation, time spent with teachers and quiet communities along the way. The most important leadership happens in private, when no one is watching. Those quiet years changed how every loud room feels since.
The journey is not finished. More than thirty countries. Eighteen years of steady work in immigration, education, trade, and building bridges between institutions. Still learning. Still in service.
Now, SoulPath is taking shape, a journey that helps leaders, families, and organizations reconnect with what matters. Still advising. Still writing. Still building things meant to outlast her. The name says the rest. A path, walked slowly, toward what matters most.
